Quick note to update you on our big adventure in Kentucky.!
For those of you who have never visited this beautiful area – you are welcome to come for a visit!  It really is pretty in the foothills of the Appalachians.

When we came in November things were pretty grey and barren – but by mid May the trees were full of birds and leaves and we have so enjoyed sitting in our white rockers on our front porch overlooking Poosey Ridge which is full of deciduous trees and all species of birds, butterflies and cicadas.  It’s almost deafening sometimes from bird calls.  I guess I didn’t think anywhere else could compare to Seattle – but Kentucky definitely does!

We are very busy putting our new home – Zephyr Crossing – into liveable shape – working on making it “sustainable”.  We bought a foreclosure which had been vacant several months and there were issues with that – plus it really wasn’t quite finished…so we’ve painted inside and out, new carpeting in basement, new closet and door arrangement, and numerous other projects inside too small to mention.

On the outside we brought in a bobcat and moved quite a bit of dirt around – built a new pad across the hill giving us access via tractor to the hill and now the guys are putting in a fence for the goats.  We had to repair a damaged septic system.  Because of that I had to tear out most of the front yard, so  I’ve decided to take most of it and make a U-Pick strawberry patch for next year!

Andy officially retired a couple weeks ago – so he is focusing solely on his music for now.  He has gigs every Tuesday night at a Starbucks near here….and has a pretty major concert coming up at a restaurant in Berea in a couple of weeks.  We attended “WoodSongs Old Time Radio Hour” – in Lexington last week – and for everyone that likes old timey and/or bluegrass music – it is streamed on the web – and also plays on radio stations throughout the US.  Awesome… www.woodsongs.com  If you come this way to visit – plan to come over a Monday night so we can take you to one of the shows.   Anyway, lots of good ideas on their website and access to old shows (500 coming up).

Meanwhile- we'll be back in the Northwest in August!
Check out Andy's concert calendar at

Remember, "we're all in it together!

October 2008

Well... time changes things and things chage with time.
As much as we hate to leave the Pacfic NW, home to us and with so man ygood friends and memories, Andy and I (Sue) have made the decision to move back east to be nearer to family and, hopefully, find a house we can afford!

We hope to to continue some version of Crystal Rabbit, and , of couse, all of our friends are welcome to come visit us in our about-to-be -adopted state of Kentucky!

Please keep in touch as we make our life's transitions... and fear not, we'll be back to plya in the Puget Sound area soon!

Love and Peace,

Sue and Andy
